How it works
We believe in looking after staff properly at Pedal Me, and we have employees, not contractors. There are a range of hours available on weekdays and weekends, during the daytime and evening. You can work flexibly or to set shifts as you prefer – daytime or evening and we offer contracts on zero hours (i.e. you pick work as you wish), part-time hours (eg. 18 hours/week) or full time hours (36 hours/week).
We provide full training, all equipment necessary, and pay a basic hourly wage (National Living Wage – £7.50), as well as giving you a 20% commission on all your takings once fully qualified, with jobs being sent to you via the Pedal Me app. We expect this to equal about £9.00 an hour to start with but increase as we get busier. Two jobs an hour would give you about £11/hour income. It should be possible, in the busiest hours, to earn more.
“I love riding these bikes – you get respect out on the road, and everyone smiles at you!” – Niall
We are keen to support your development. Our model is that, as far is practicable, all Pedal Me staff do some riding – so you could be our future Social Media lead; Salesperson or Web Developer. We’ll work with you to help you develop the skills needed depending on the direction you wish to take.
